With his unique talent in capturing the beauty of craftsmanship, photographer Andrejs Pidjass, or better known as NejroN, is no stranger to the stock photography world. Accompanied with retro filters, some of his most popular images illustrates the effort and appreciation put into a craft. This includes designing the ultimate wedding ring, or the inch-perfect cut of every strand of hair on one’s head and face.
Based in Riga, Latvia, this gifted photographer is guilty of falling victim to the travel bug. Therefore, his love for travel photography often sees him hitting the road with his trusted motorcycle. Furthermore, Andrejs is always up for a hike. He identifies Cambodia, New Zealand and Iceland as part of his travel bucket list.
The Early Days of Andrejs Pidjass
Firstly, Andrejs was inspired by Lev Dolgachov’s (a popular Estonian microstock photographer), article on the microstock industry. Following that, he then decided it was time for him to take a plunge into this rapidly evolving industry.
“There was nothing to lose, I thought it was a good opportunity to learn how to shoot pictures and to earn something at the same time. So it was just a hobby at the beginning, but 3 years later I quit my job and decided to become a full-time microstock photographer”.
– Andrejs Pidjass
In the beginning of his stock photography career, Andrejs carried out projects as a lone wolf. However, with the new demands of the industry, Andrejs now thrives as a team player.
“I have a great team that helps me a lot. Finding locations, models, props, key-wording and uploading. I don’t do any of that anymore. I just keep shooting and editing myself.” – Andrejs Pidjass
In addition, Andrejs considers constant hard work as an essential part to thrive in this industry. He also favors quantity over quality as it pays off in the long run.
